How to Use the Dive Case

1. Pre-Dive Check: Before each use, inspect the O-ring for debris, hair, or damage. Apply a thin layer of silicone grease if needed. Ensure the O-ring is seated correctly in its groove.
2. Insert Camera: Open the housing, place your Insta360 X3 inside, and align both lenses with the transparent dome covers. Set your desired shooting mode and start recording before sealing.
3. Seal the Case: Close the housing and secure the latch/clasp firmly. Verify all edges are fully sealed with no gaps.
4. Water Test (Recommended for First Use): Submerge the sealed empty case in a pool or bucket for 10-15 minutes. Check for leaks before your first dive with the camera inside.
5. Mount and Dive: Attach the case to your selfie stick, underwater tray, or tripod using the 1/4"-20 screw mount. Start your dive and capture immersive 360° underwater footage.

No. This case (WP-ONEX3) is designed exclusively for the Insta360 X3. The X4 has a larger body and the ONE X2 has a smaller body — each requires its own specific housing.

What's the difference between this 40m case and a standard 30m case?

This case is rated to 40 meters (131 feet), which is 10 meters deeper than standard 30m housings. This extra depth rating provides a safety margin when diving near the 30m recreational limit, and covers Advanced Open Water dive depths up to 40m.

Will 360° stitching work underwater with this case?

Yes. The optical-grade transparent dome covers maintain clear visibility for both lenses, allowing Insta360's stitching algorithm to produce seamless 360° panoramas in the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio. Minor refraction at extreme angles is normal for all underwater housings.

Can I use the touchscreen through the housing?

No. The touchscreen is not accessible through the waterproof housing. Start recording and set your desired mode before sealing the case. The X3's buttons allow basic operation (start/stop recording) through the housing.

How do I prevent fogging inside the case?

Place a small anti-fog insert or silica gel packet inside the housing before sealing. Avoid opening and closing the case in humid environments. If fogging occurs, dry both the camera and housing interior before re-sealing.

Does this case float or sink?

The case with the X3 inside will sink. For flotation, attach a floating hand grip or buoyancy arm to the 1/4"-20 screw mount on the base.

How do I maintain the O-ring?

After each use, rinse with fresh water. Periodically remove the O-ring, clean it, inspect for nicks or debris, and apply a thin layer of silicone grease before reinstalling. Replace the O-ring if damaged or if the case fails a water test.
