POWRIG Ultra-Thin 90° BNC to BNC SDI Cable
The POWRIG 90° BNC cable is a slim, 3mm-diameter coaxial cable with right-angle BNC male connectors on both ends. Designed for SDI (Serial Digital Interface) video signal transmission at 75 ohm impedance, it delivers reliable HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, and 6G-SDI signal transfer between cameras, monitors, wireless video transmitters, gimbals, EVFs, and broadcast equipment — even in tight cable-routing spaces where straight connectors would not fit.
Key Features
- 90° Right-Angle BNC Connectors — Both ends feature a 90-degree male BNC connector that routes the cable flush against the device body. Ideal for camera cages, compact rigs, and gimbal setups where clearance is limited.
- Ultra-Thin 3mm Cable Diameter — Significantly slimmer than standard BNC cables (typically 5-6mm). The thin profile reduces cable bulk in multi-cable rigs and allows routing through tight channels in camera cages and cage plates.
- 75 Ohm Impedance for SDI — True 75Ω coaxial construction ensures proper impedance matching for SDI signals. Prevents signal reflection, ghosting, and dropout on long runs and high-bandwidth 3G/6G-SDI connections.
- Compatible with HD-SDI, 3G-SDI & 6G-SDI — Supports data rates up to 6 Gbps, covering 1080p HD-SDI, 1080p60 3G-SDI, and 4K 6G-SDI workflows used in professional video production.
- Gold-Plated Connectors — Corrosion-resistant gold-plated BNC pins maintain consistent conductivity and reliable locking over hundreds of mating cycles.
- Flexible & Lightweight — The thin, flexible jacket bends easily without kinking. Reduces strain on camera and monitor BNC ports compared to stiff, thick coax cables.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a 75 ohm or 50 ohm BNC cable? Can I use it for SDI?
This is a 75 ohm BNC cable, which is the correct impedance for SDI video signals. Using a 50 ohm cable for SDI causes signal reflections and data errors. The POWRIG cable is purpose-built for HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, and 6G-SDI applications.
Will the 90° connector fit inside a camera cage?
Yes. The right-angle connector extends only about 1 cm from the BNC port and routes the cable parallel to the device body. It is designed specifically for use inside camera cages (SmallRig, Tilta, POWRIG) where straight connectors would protrude too far and risk damage.
Can this cable carry 4K SDI (6G-SDI and 12G-SDI)?
The cable supports HD-SDI (1.5 Gbps), 3G-SDI (3 Gbps), and 6G-SDI (6 Gbps) reliably at shorter lengths (20-50 cm). For 12G-SDI (12 Gbps) at 4K 60p, we recommend dedicated 12G-rated cables with thicker shielding for maximum signal integrity over longer runs.
Is the 3mm cable too thin to be durable?
No. The cable uses a high-quality coaxial core with braided shielding inside a flexible PVC jacket. It is designed for the shorter patch runs typical in camera rigs (20-100 cm) where mechanical stress is low. For long cable runs over 3 meters, a thicker cable is recommended.
Can I use this BNC cable for timecode or analog audio?
Yes. BNC connectors are used for multiple signal types in film production. This cable works for LTC timecode sync, word clock (digital audio), and composite analog video in addition to SDI. The 75Ω impedance is correct for all of these applications.
What's the difference between this cable and a standard straight BNC cable?
Two key differences: (1) the 90° right-angle connectors route the cable flush against the device instead of sticking straight out, and (2) the 3mm ultra-thin diameter is roughly half the thickness of a standard BNC cable, reducing weight and bulk in your rig.
Which length do I need for a camera-to-monitor setup?
For a camera and monitor mounted on the same cage or rig plate, 20 cm or 50 cm is usually sufficient. For a monitor on a separate arm or tripod-mounted offset, choose 80 cm or 100 cm. When in doubt, go one size longer — excess cable can be coiled, but a short cable cannot be stretched.
